SX18 Aurora stealth VTOL
In an effort to paint more vehicles, I decided to kick things off with this delightful little piece by ClearHorizon Miniatures.
Only a couple of inches long, it comes as a kit of a surprising 8 pieces. It's a bit fiddly to make, but well worth the effort. It comes with optional landing gear (increasing the parts to 11), which I opted to use because I don't see myself using this in anger, it'll be an objective or piece of scenery.
If you're thinking of using it as airpower, the only weapons are internal as evidenced by the holes in the fuselage just behind the cockpit.
So as a stealth VTOL, it felt natural to make it dark. I used purple and black as I was inspired by photos of rather gothic wedding in Bakersfield, CA recently. (Congrats again Fred and Kris!)

Armies Army Russian Feds
A few previews of the forthcoming Russian Feds miniatures from Armies Army.
Modelled on their recent SKOV range, these figures feature new helmets and exo-suits.
Not sure whether they'll be the regular arm of my SKOV force or the government opposition yet.
Whilst I had my camera out, I thought I'd take the opportunity to snap some of the other figures I've painted recently.

ClearHorizon Miniatures APE Combat Robots
More 15mm miniatures with seperate heads, which is a remarkable concept at this scale. It really works when done right, which these certainly are. I used all three variants to see how they look but I think I prefer the version with the big black visor.
Really nicely sculpted and cast miniatures that paint up really well. I got to use my new green paints from Scale75, a range that I'm thoroughly enjoying at the moment. Glad I took the leap to a whole new range. I have the NMM sets on my letter to Santa, so another new challenge could await in the new year.

ClearHorizon Covert Ops War Drones
A lovely pack of three war drones with controller from ClearHorizon's Covert Ops range.
The drones come in at about 23mm to the top of the head whilst the controller is 17mm.
There's some very fine detail here. Most enjoyable to paint.
