Painting competition entry

I've entered my first painting competition over on Facebook.

The idea is to paint a pair of opposing squads and post 3-5 photos in the group that's been set up for the competition. The post that gets the most likes by the end of March wins.

Here's a bonus photo of the alien mercs by GZG that wasn't entered in the competition. If you'd like to look at the others and perhaps even vote for me by liking the main post, I'd be extremely grateful. The link is below the photo.

Thanks for looking!

Another squad of Talos suits.

I've just finished a second unit of Talos suited heavies.

These chaps will be winging their way to White Dragon Miniatures HQ as soon as I've given them a coat of varnish. Postal service willing, they should be on display at Salute this year.

Xar preview

I received some advance samples from Jon at GZG this week for his Xar range.

Two packs; a launcher/mortar team and a heavy beam cannon team. I was hoping to get them painted, but Mother's Day ate into my time a bit! Seeing as I don't get a lot of painting time during the week, it may be next weekend before I can finish these beauties, so here's a sneak peek.

Xin Monkey Bots

Last month The Ion Age were giving away their monkey bot free with every order. I bought a pack of three and got my free one too!

A few quick snaps of the ne'er do wells...

SLAP Miniatures comparison photos

Stuart sent me some photos comparing his Kickstarter figures with some Ground Zero Games and a couple of others that might be Darkest Star.

I don't recognise the figure that is second from the right in the second picture, or the tank. Please let me know if you can identify either.

As you can see they look slightly smaller than the GZG figures, but not a great deal. They should be a perfect match for some of the slighter sculpts such as Khurasan or the newer Armies Army.
